Anyone catch the Drones in the Terminator Finale?
« on: December 16, 2008, 05:54:29 am »
The finale of the Terminator had MAJOR references to the 'California Drones' with the familiar pictures and a few others never seen, a character named Abraham (similar to Issac) that worked in a top secret facility.

The kicker was a Drone like mother ship floated over head in the end.

I'm scratching my head either:

1- They are behind the hoax and waited over two years to spring it using Abraham instead of Issac and other weakly connected plot points.
2- Or the writers are big fans of the drone case and borrowed the elements and used them in their story.

"The Prophet Abraham had come to this place along with Isaac; there had been many earthquakes in the vicinity, but while Abraham remained there, there were no tremors."

Perhaps the drones do have something to do with the California quake zones and the story of Abraham and Isaac is a reference to the greater story. The writers may be not involved with the greater story but then again they might have been stirred by someone in the know. Gene Rodenburry in setting up Star Trek had contact with RAND, Battile and others who employed individuals that would fit "Isaac" and "Abraham", and who would be in the know and in contact with Majestic. Perhaps "Terminator's" writers similarly had contact with consultants who are in the know and are trying to tell us something indirectly.

Judging from screenshots, everything seems slightly different from our case as if to avoid copyright or other legal issues. Drones and LAP are a bit different, Isaac->Abraham, etc... everything except the name "California drones" which was not given by Isaac, anyway. However, everything is still very recognizable and so obviously based on this case that maybe we'll see its conclusion in court?

Btw, I don't know how much money was spent on this production (probably a lot), but the diagrams look like kids play compared to Isaac's.

Edit to add  - some of the drones from Abraham's home:

...and here's one from the final scene, hovering above Sarah:

can any fan of the show explain the significance put on the drones in this episode?

this was the season finale?

did the show imply that there will be upcoming plots featuring more of the "califonia drones"?

do the drones take on a significant role in the series now?  or are they just a sub-sub plot which will not direct the future of the storyline?

james cameron's first student film Xenogenesis (1978) has a lead character named Raj.

here's the 10 minute movie;

http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docid=-8786521104625863614&hl=en&fs=true"

why does this cameron\raj\drone connection seem familiar?

from filmmakers.com:

"Enrolling at a nearby college California State University at Fullerton, Cameron decided to study physics...It occurred to him that the possibility of integrating his interests in science and art were possible...As the future filmmaker continued to educate himself in the techniques, he landed a job as a miniature model maker at the Roger Corman Studios."

*this must be the cameron\drone connection i was thinking about, the similarities of the drone shapes to the alien ship in cameron's the abyss:

It appears that the writers of the TV show Terminator are fans of the Drones.

Movie writers have been using elements from the media and science for decades.

When trains were big there were lots of movies with trains in them.  Movie writers did not invent steam trains but they did make their films more exciting

IMO there is no connection between the Drones and the writers of this TV program.

I agree they used this to enhance their storyline. Great idea too. These drones are actually closer in design to what Leviathan made. And I wonder if Lev had any connection to this series in some way. Is it coincidnce he disappeared not more than 2 months ago and now this comes out on tv?

A better question is to me, are we being shown these drones and exposed to the primer through all these forms of media to get us ready for something big, coming to a sky near you? And if this is a hoax (with every new media inclusion of the drones in some way this feels more real than ever as noone steps forward to claim their work) then sooner or later someones gonna sue the hell out of Alienware and now Fox for copyright infringement..

Whoa!  This is pretty big.  More mainstream drone coverage.  I wonder if Raj, Isaac or any off the rest saw that episode?   8)

Thanks Nemo for posting the link to the show as I almost never watch any of these.  This one does look interesting however.  I may become a fan!

I see the main character is searching for Abraham (Isaac).  This is too much!  Next they'll have somebody name Haj (Raj) spoting a drone!
