Some important points were discovered by members in that OMF thread.

The barrel distortion correction I thought was very important.

I agree, it seems like the drone was also "straightened out" with the applied barrel correction. Previously I wasn't able to fit a circle exactly covering its bottom circumference, but now it seems easy.

Here are full-res corrected versions of PICT0016 and PICT0017 in case you need them, both corrected with PS CS3 lens distortion filter (correction factor was 6,00 - whatever it means), with some additional sharpening for PICT0017.
